As we’ve seen already this college season, excelling on the field can quickly lead to success in NIL value increases.

For example, Bryce Young, CJ Stroud and Jordan Addison have all done well on the field this season and also struck new deals and seen their NIL worth increase. But they aren’t the only example. There are players all over the country – in both men’s and women’s sports – that are seeing their On3 NIL Valuations soar after strong starts to the season or repeated accomplishments executing deals off of it.

Here’s a look at five players that shot up the charts in the On3 NIL 100, the On3 NIL College Football rankings and in gymnastics . The NIL 100 is the first of its kind and the defacto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by market valuation.

Marvin Harrison Jr. – Ohio State

Position: Receiver
On3 NIL Valuation: $1.3 million
Increase over last week: $684,000
On3 NIL 100 ranking: 12
Per Post Value: $2,5

Ohio State receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.’s success on the field has continued to boost his On3 NIL Valuation. His value soared to $1.3 million after he became the first Buckeyes player ever to catch three or more touchdowns in three different games in the romp last week against Michigan State. “I definitely surprise myself sometimes, but you also have to have the confidence in yourself that you can make any play out there,” Harrison told On3’s Lettermen Row. “That’s why I put all the work in, so nothing surprises me.” Harrison’s big numbers – plus his famous last name – have made him a name to watch on the NIL front. He’s yet to execute a monster NIL deal. But when he does, he’ll be able to profit greatly.

Christopher Smith – Georgia

Position: Safety
On3 NIL Valuation: $665,000
Increase over last week: $523,000
On3 NIL 100 ranking: 54
Per Post Value: $663

Georgia defensive back Christopher Smith came into the season as one of the top returning defenders on the defending national champs. He’s not disappointed, including earning SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors in the season-opening win over No. 11 Oregon. What’s fascinating about Smith is that he’s not truly tapped into his NIL deal potential up to this point. He’s only done a few deals, including with The Players’ Lounge in January. So that means when he does decide to make a move, he’ll be in line to command a pretty penny. That’s especially true with a massive On3 NIL Valuation.

Jordan Chiles – UCLA

Position: All-Around
On3 NIL Valuation: $368,000
On3 College Gymnastics NIL Rank: 3
Per Post Value: $5,100

Jordan Chiles is one of the best brands in college sports, after helping lead the US to a team silver medal at the 2020 Olympic Games. Chiles placed in the top three in the all-around at every domestic competition in 2021, including third at the Olympic Trials. During the 2022 season at UCLA, Chiles earned second-team All-America honors after tying for seventh in her session and 14th overall on floor exercise at the NCAA Championships. Chiles is expected to have a massive 2023 season for the Bruins. Plus, she’s making the most out of her NIL opportunities with deals with Reebok, Pottery Barn Teen, DoorDash, Urban Outfitters, GK Gymnastics, Gymshark, Amazon, SoFi, Degree and many others. Her On3 NIL Valuation of $368,000 is surely only going to increase this upcoming season.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson – UCLA

Position: Quarterback
On3 NIL Valuation: $909,000
Increase over last week: $295,000
On3 NIL 100 ranking: 28
Per Post Value: $3,600

UCLA and quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson are having a moment. Not only are the Bruins 6-0, but Robinson also became UCLA’s all-time leading passing touchdown leader in a blowout win over Utah this past weekend. He was honored as On3’s Pac 12 player of the week, and he’s also shooting up the charts as a Heisman Trophy candidate. With the success, Thompson-Robinson is also now in a position to command even more from NIL. His On3 NIL Valuation has grown by more than 198% over the last 14 weeks. Additionally, we know DTR will take advantage of the opportunity, as he’s executed nearly double-digit deals so far.

Jahmyr Gibbs – Alabama

Position: Running back
On3 NIL Valuation: $1 million
Increase over last week: $303,000
On3 NIL 100 ranking: 18
Per Post Value: $1,300

Jahmyr Gibbs is taking every advantage of his opportunity at Alabama after transferring from Georgia Tech. After a somewhat slow start to the season, Gibbs excelled on the national stage last weekend against Texas A&M. He had 154 yards on 21 carries against the Aggies, giving him 360 yards in the past two games alone. Those numbers have also pushed his On3 NIL Valuation up to the $1 million mark. He’s another athlete who has been somewhat slow playing the NIL deal process. But if Gibbs continues to star, then he should have a big opportunity to take advantage down the stretch of the season.

About the On3 NIL Valuation

The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation calculates an athlete’s NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories:

+ Performance
+ Influence
+ Exposure

While the algorithm includes deal data, it does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals athletes have completed to date, nor does it set an athlete’s NIL valuation for their entire career.
