Jalin Hyatt's legendary performance, Instagram growth leads to major On3 NIL Valuation
Tennessee wide receiver Jalin Hyatt delivered a performance on the Third Saturday in October that Volunteer fans won’t forget anytime. He’s now set to reap the NIL benefits from his jaw-dropping night.
The junior finished Saturday night with six catches for 207 yards and five touchdown catches. He became the first player since DeVonta Smith in 2019 to have 200 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns in a game.
He caught every touchdown pass Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker threw in the 52-49 win against Alabama. The victory broke a 15-game losing streak to Nick Saban and the Tide.
Entering the Alabama game, he held an On3 NIL Valuation of $276,000. Hyatt now holds an On3 NIL Valuation of $611,00, a $335,000 jump following the win.
His social media following has a lot to do with the growth. Entering Saturday’s game, the wide receiver’s Instagram had roughly 15,700 followers. The number now sits now north of 60,000. He also saw his Twitter following jump 17.4% to more than 20,500.
Hyatt now has a per post of $1,200.
In the new world of Name, Image and Likeness, social media followers equal dollar signs. Social media activations took up 52.6% of all NIL deals done on Opendorse through September. Athletes are viewed as social media influencers, and Hyatt now has one to show for it.

Jalin Hyatt’s growing NIL brand
The speedy wide receiver now has 33 catches on the season for 595 yards and 10 touchdowns. He’s averaging 18 yards per catch, too. Hyatt has taken a much more prominent role in the Tennessee offense with Cedric Tillman dealing with an ankle injury.
Hyatt has not spent much time focusing on his NIL opportunities. But following his breakout performance against Alabama, there’s going to be no shortage of opportunities for the wideout. For starters, he now has his own T-shirt with BreakingT. Since it is an officially licensed player product, he will receive compensation for the shirt.
And this past winter, Hyatt auctioned off his Music City Bowl game jersey, with the proceeds set to be split between the Knox County Parks & Recreation and the Richland County Parks & Recreation to benefit the youth.
