Beyoncé wasn’t the only one who dropped new music on Super Bowl Sunday.

Through a new NIL deal with Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys, LSU women’s basketball star and influencer Flau’jae Johnson dropped a remix of the law firm’s jingle during the big game.

Johnson is a world-class talent on and off the court. She stars as one of the best players in college basketball and a talented rapper who has a recording deal and millions upon millions of streams and downloads.

She’s also one of the top success stories of the NIL Era with an On3 NIL Valuation of $1.1 million and a long list of deals from top companies like PoweradeTampaxAmazonDoritosPapa John’sRaising Cane’s and Meta. She also has her own shoe deal with Puma.

The deal is also another sign that Gordon McKernan is not letting up in his support of the Tigers.

McKernan’s law firm has emerged as one of the largest spenders in the LSU market, disbursing major marketing dollars on endorsement deals with a long list of star Tiger athletes. He’s signed deals with more than 80 LSU athletes since 2021.

Johnson shared on social media that she was quite pleased with the result of the track and the accompanying video. It also didn’t hurt that it was released during the Super Bowl.

Flau’jae Johnson continues her success

Flau’jae Johnson was well known before she arrived in Baton Rouge.

Johnson had her No. 4 jersey retired at Savannah (Georgia) Sprayberry High School after scoring a school-record 1,615 career points. She became the first McDonald’s All-American recruited to LSU by coach Kim Mulkey. She also played in the Jordan Brand Classic and earned MVP honors after scoring 27 points in the game.

Johnson is also a rap star with a record deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. In fact, Johnson announced her commitment to LSU with the release of a new song “All Falls Down” accompanied by a music video that featured Baton Rouge’s Lil Boosie.

The marriage between music stardom and stardom in basketball has propelled Johnson to build a massive brand. She has 3.1 million followers on social media and a long, long list of NIL deals.

The stardom off the court hasn’t hurt her success on it for the Tigers.

Johnson made an instant impact at LSU as a freshman, starting all 36 games. She was the SEC’s freshman of the year after the 2022-2023 season. Johnson averaged 11 points and 5.9 rebounds, helping the Tigers win the national championship. In 24 games this season, Johnson has upped her average to 13.4 points, while also still averaging 5.3 rebounds and nabbing 54 steals.
