LSU women’s basketball star Angel Reese had a special present to pump her teammates up before the Tigers’ Thursday night matchup against undefeated and No. 1 ranked South Carolina.

As part of a NIL partnership with Beats by Dre, Reese handed out brand new purple and gold headphones to her teammates and coaches. The moment was captured on video and shared on Reese’s social media accounts.

“I know we have a big game, and keeping us locked in and focused is important,” Reese says before the gifting. “Talent wins games, but teamwork wins championships. So, here’s something to keep us all locked in and to push forward for the rest of this season – one game at a time.”

In the video, Reese then opens a massive box overflowing with purple and gold boxes. Her teammates erupted in cheers as she began handing out the custom boxes with headphones inside.

“This is so cool,” teammate Flau’jae Johnson says when she’s handed a box.

Interestingly, the biggest response in the video came when the coaches were told they were also getting headphones, including a huge scream from assistant coach Gary Redus II.

@angelreese10 Glad I was able to do this for my LSU family! Looking forward to the future with @Beats by Dre #geauxtigers ♬ original sound - angel reese

Angel Reese an NIL success story

Angel Reese is a massive star both on and off the court.

Despite missing games earlier this season, Reese, a 6-foot-3 junior from Baltimore’s St. Francis Academy, is averaging 19.9 points. She’s averaging 20.3 points since the start of SEC play. Reese was named the NCAA tournament’s Most Outstanding Player in the Tigers’ 2023 national championship run after averaging 21.3 points and 15.2 rebounds over six games.

Reese is also one of college sports’ biggest NIL success stories. She has a massive list of partnerships, including major brands like Tampax, Airbnb, Amazon, PlayStation, Starry, Raising Cane’s, Intuit TurboTax, Sonic, Coach and numerous others. Along with the Beats by Dre partnerships, she’s also promoted other audio equipment companies in the past such as Bose and JanSport.

Reese signed her first sneaker deal with Reebok this past October. That deal is a multi-year partnership, which came after the brand brought on Shaquille O’Neal as president of Reebok basketball. Shaq dubbed Reese the “greatest athlete” to ever come out of LSU.

With more than 5.2 million social media followers, Reese has the highest On3 NIL Valuation in women’s college basketball. The $1.7 million valuation is No. 7 on the On3 NIL 100 and ranks behind only LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne in women’s sports.
