Week 5 Picks: Florida @ Kentucky

Ricky Pearsall is cashing in on one of the top catches of the college football season.

The Florida wide receiver had a one-handed grab in last week’s win over Charlotte. Midway through the first quarter, the senior jumped up and snatched the ball with one hand. He pulled off the highlight-worthy catch with multiple defenders pressing down on him.

The moment immediately started to make its way across social media. Now fans can commemorate the moment with Pearsall thanks to NIL. Working with his agent Joshua Grady, he’s released T-shirts featuring the catch on his website.

Customers can choose from a silhouette of the catch or another shirt that is in full color with his name and number on the back. Prices start at $36.99, with Pearsall pocketing the profits thanks to NIL.

Merchandise featuring the receiver and his big-time catch is also available on 500 Level, Athlete’s Thread and Influxer Merch.

Creating custom apparel is a major opportunity to drive some attention to Pearsall and build out his brand. Plus, brand deals have become such popular activations in the NIL era, that creating unique, licensed apparel after big moments has been a win for athletes.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound receiver started his college career off at Arizona State, playing three seasons with the Sun Devils. He transferred to Florida ahead of the 2022 season, finishing his first year in the SEC with 33 catches for 661 yards and five touchdowns.

In 35 career college games, Pearsall has 1,646 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. Off the football field, he holds NIL deals with Farm Rich Snacks, GOAT Fuel and the Florida-driven NIL collective Florida Victorious.

The Gators travel to Kentucky on Saturday for a 12 p.m. ET kick. Ranked No. 22 in the country, a win in the Bluegrass State would position Ricky Pearsall and Florida to compete for an SEC East title this season.
