Aaron Rodgers makes Anchorman reference to describe odd return
Green Bay Packers‘ quarterback Aaron Rodgers made his return to the starting lineup this week after being out last week due to testing positive for COVID-19.
After preparing virtually for 10 days completely away from his teammates, Rodgers said being back in the huddle this week was an odd adjustment.
He referenced the hit movie, Anchorman, when talking about how odd the adjustment was, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Aaron Rodgers and drama
Drama just seemingly finds Rodgers wherever he goes. In the off-season, there was an endless amount of drama about the quarterback and his issues with general manager Brian Gutekunst. In the regular season, of course, Rodgers recently brought more drama to his doorstep by lying about his vaccination status with regards to the Covid-19 vaccine.
On-the-field play
He’s still a Hall-of-Fame quarterback and Rodgers has been playing like it ever since his Week 1 colossal disaster against the New Orleans Saints. The Packers had it handed to them 38-3. But that early season wake-up call has served as just that and Green Bay has looked like the formidable playoff opponent that many expected them to be in 2021.
Check out his stats since Week 1.
In the regular season in 2021, Rodgers has completed 66.4 percent of his passes for 2,186 yards, while tossing 17 touchdowns and just four interceptions.
Against the Seahawks on Sunday, he threw for 292 passing yards, while tossing no touchdowns and one interception. He didn’t need to do much because Russell Wilson and the Seahawks could get absolutely nothing going on offense. The Packers shut them out and D.K. Metcalf was not too happy about getting shut out, either.

He got ejected for essentially trying to fight the entire Packers’ defense. Metcalf is a freak of nature, but that’s biting off a little more than he can chew in that case.
After the game, he talked about why he was so upset.
Lambeau Field continues to be a house of horrors for the Seattle Seahawks, as they haven’t won there since 1999.
Green Bay Packers’ defense
The Packers’ defense racked up three sacks, five tackles for loss, and five quarterback hits on Russell Wilson. The Green Bay defensive line wouldn’t allow him to get comfortable in the pocket: Whitney Mercilus, Rashan Gary, and Preston Smith all racked up sacks for the Packers.
Green Bay will look to stay hot next week against the Minnesota Vikings and their star tailback, Dalvin Cook.
