Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is having some more fun at the expense of one of their rivals. Former Detroit Lions quarterback Dan Orlovsky set himself up as a target for the Packers quarterback.

In the middle of Green Bays’ 24-10 victory over the Washington football team, Rodgers was forced to throw the ball away in the back of his own endzone. After seeing the play Orlovsky posted a picture of the throwaway on Twitter with a simple caption “What could’ve been.” Rogers found the post and retweeted it with his own quirky reply.

Dan Orlovsky is famous for one of the most embarrassing moments in NFL history. During the Detroit Lions winless season in 2008, Orlovsky took a safety in one of the most comedic ways ever seen on an NFL football field. While being chased by then Minnesota Vikings defensive Jared Allen, the Lions’ quarterback scrambled to avoid the defender a full yard outside of the back of the end zone. Unaware of his mistake Orlovsky kept running attempting to make a play downfield. It was only once he looked down, after the referee blew their whistle did he realize his error. But to his credit, Orlovsky embraced his mistake then and continues to do so now.

Rodgers trolls the Bears

This season Rogers has already gotten a shot in at another division rival but in a far less joking way. In fact, one former Chicago Bear took exception to Rodgers antics. Former Bears center Olin Kreutz did not mince words when speaking about Aaron Rodgers troll of Chicago on Sunday. In an interview with The Score 670, the former Bear-turned-analyst summed up his feelings towards Rogers with this quote:

“I’d like to punch him in the face.”

The play Kreutz took exception to happened late in the fourth quarter with the Packers leading 17-14. On first and goal Rodgers scrambled to the right after he was unable to find a target downfield. As he headed for the pylon he was hammered by safety Eddie Jackson but not before scoring six. After celebrating with his teammates, Rodgers turned to the fans at Soldier field and bellowed “I still own you!” The score put Green Bay up 24-14 with less than five minutes to play. They hung on to win and the quarterback improved to 21-5 against the Bears in his career including 10-3 on the road.

It was good to see two former rivals enjoy a good ribbing of one another. But Orlovsky would be wise not to make himself an easy target for Rodgers again because the Packers will hit him when he’s wide open.
