The next three matchups were held under the Southeastern Conference banner. That first conference game just so happened to be in the SEC Championship game, in which Auburn was the victor and eventually went on to play in the 2013 BCS National Championship game that season.
They’ve played twice in the regular season since 2017. The first saw Auburn travel to Columbia and rout Missouri 51-14 before the two team’s most recent meeting in 2022. That was the closest game of all of them, seeing Auburn edge Missouri 17-14.
The rolls may be reversed in 2024, as Missouri comes into the game as the odds-on favorite to win the matchup over Auburn. Based on the matchup’s history heavily favoring Auburn, getting a victory over Auburn would be a strong statement for Missouri, despite Auburn’s slow start to the season.
Meanwhile, an upset win over Missouri on the road is exactly what Auburn needs to get their season back on the right track.
