Bill Simmons sparks Taylor Swift pregnancy rumors amid Travis Kelce retirement talk
The Ringer’s Bill Simmons sparked a Taylor Swift pregnancy rumor amid the talk of Travis Kelce potentially retiring after the 2025 season. The long time tight end and future Hall of Famer got engaged to the global pop-star earlier this year.
“It was officially a ‘feel bad for Kelce,’” Simmons said on his podcast. “Guy’s a Hall of Famer, he’s getting married to Taylor Swift, having a kid with her, probably flies everywhere private, has private security everywhere he goes. And he’s just kind of running around this f*cking Titans game, trying not to get hurt. Fake an injury. Just fake an injury and end the thing.”
Simmons appeared to be talking about Kelce and Swift in jest, making assumptions, so on and so forth. Essentially, since the Chiefs’ season is over, Simmons felt bad that Kelce had to play the rest of the way, sacrificing his body while he has a fiance of Swift’s stature at home and abroad, with a big time future coming in his post-playing days.
Still, does Simmons know something we don’t know? I guess the whole world will have to find out if Kelce and Swift will bring a child to this Earth sooner rather than later!
Despite the Chiefs’ 6-9 record, Kelce put together a decent season statistically. He has 68 catches for 803 yards, five touchdowns and 11.8 yards per catch this year.

In his career, Kelce has 1,072 catches, 12,954 yards, 82 touchdowns and 12.1 yards per catch. Kelce ranks No. 10 all-time in catches, No. 23 in yards and tied for No. 31 in touchdowns.
If Kelce and Swift want to attend the Super Bowl together, again, they’ll have to get tickets! The Chiefs won’t be in the playoffs and Swift reportedly said no, or at least had no interest in performing at the Super Bowl halftime show.
“Jay-Z has always been very good to me — our [business] teams are really close,” Swift said on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon this fall. “They sometimes will call and say, ‘How does she feel about… [Super Bowl]. And that’s not, like, an official offer or a conference-room conversation, more ‘How does she feel about it in general?’
“And we’re always able to tell him the truth, which is that I am in love with a guy who does that sport on that actual field. Like, [professional football] is violent chess. That is gladiators without swords. That is dangerous. I am, [for] the whole season, locked in on what that man is doing on the field. Can you imagine if he’s out there every single week, putting his life on the line, doing this very dangerous, very high-pressure, high-intensity sport, and I’m like, ‘I wonder what my choreo should be? I think we should do two verses of ‘Shake It Off,’ into ‘Blank Space,’ into ‘Cruel Summer,’ that would be great!’”
