Christopher Bell wins Xfinity Series pole award at Darlington Raceway
There are a few Cup Series talents in the Xfinity Series race this weekend. Christopher Bell went and stole the pole from the full-timers. Bell is one of the handful of drivers doing double duty this NASCAR weekend.
Darlington Raceway is a track that has earned its reputation. Too Tough to Tame. At least for a qualifying lap, Christopher Bell was able to tame Darlington.
Bell will lead the field to green this afternoon. He will be joined by Sheldon Creed on the front row, JGR lockout.
Christopher Bell dominated the Xfinity Series race at New Hampshire earlier this season. Will we see him have another convincing performance at Darlington? The Joe Gibbs Racing cars all had speed to them today and will be hoping to show that off more later this afternoon.
Bell is joined by Cup Series regulars Chase Elliott, Joey Logano, Ross Chastain, and Noah Gragson. Shane van Gisbergen is also running double duty this weekend at Darlington, but he is an Xfinity regular.
For those Xfinity Series drivers, this is another regular season race. They have a few more to go until the postseason. Drivers who are on the bubble or outside of the playoff picture are hoping to steal a win at Darlington.
Then there are those who are looking to build off of a solid body of work already. Sheldon Creed is searching for that first career win in the Xfinity Series. Could Darlington be the race he gets it done?

Christopher Bell has been quiet lately
Ever since that Cup Series win at New Hampshire, a weekend sweep, Christopher Bell has not been the same racer. He has had strong runs, but there have also been a lot of question marks and what-ifs lately as well.
After New Hampshire, Bell wrecked out of Nashville and Chicago, while he was having solid runs. Pocono he was a non-factor. Indy and Richmond were good races, but he was no threat to win. Another DNF at Michigan and then a bounce back performance at Daytona, P3.
So, what’s the deal? We have seen this team struggle before. It’s a concern when you consider Bell’s championship aspirations. Of course, we also know that Bell is clutch in the playoffs.
Christopher Bell has to get back on track in the Cup Series. Maybe a pole award in the Xfinity Series will be what he needs to get himself back to his winning ways.
