With the 2024 college football season still several months away, FanDuel has released the over/under on win totals for Big 12 teams. It’s set to be a big year for the conference with the exit of Oklahoma and Texas as well as the additions of Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah from the Pac-12.

Of those new teams, Utah has the best chance to contend right away and is tied with Kansas State for the highest projected win totals in the league. They’ll have plenty of competition, including from the likes of Oklahoma State, which lost to Texas in the Big 12 title game this past season.

You can view the over/under on each Big 12 team’s win total for the 2024 season below.

Kansas State Wildcats: 9.5

The Wildcats finished fourth in the Big 12 this past season, but with Oklahoma and Texas gone to the SEC, they have a chance to make it back to the conference title for the second time in three seasons. Vegas likes their chances to do so, as they are tied for the highest projected win total of any team in the league.

K-State loses quarterback Will Howard, but Avery Johnson showed a lot of promise last season splitting reps as a true freshman. The job is now his and his alone, and with 1,000-yard rusher DJ Giddens also set to return, this will be an exciting offense to watch.

Utah Utes: 9.5

Utah should immediately have a chance to compete for a Big 12 championship after arriving from the Pac-12. The Utes will have a healthy Cam Rising, who led them to back-to-back conference titles in 2021 and 2022 but missed all of last season with injury.

Rising threw for 3,034 yards, 26 touchdowns and eight interceptions while also adding 465 yards rushing and six more scores in 2022. If he is able to return to form, watch out for the Utes.

Arizona Wildcats: 8.5

Arizona is another new addition to the Big 12 who figures to contend right away. The Wildcats are coming off of their first 10-win season in nearly a decade, but lost coach Jedd Fisch to Washington this offseason.

They brought in San Jose State coach Brent Brennan to replace him as they aim to keep the momentum going into 2024. Brennan managed to keep starting quarterback Noah Fifita and his top receiver, Tetairoa McMillan, from entering the transfer portal, which offers a big boost to Arizona’s 2024 prospects.

Kansas Jayhawks: 8.5

Don’t look now, but Kansas has as realistic a shot as anybody to compete for a Big 12 championship in football in 2024. The Jayhawks have historically been among the worst teams in the conference, but saw significant stride under Lance Leipold the past two seasons. They went 9-4 in 2023, their first winning record in 15 years.

Much of KU’s chances rest on the health of quarterback Jalon Daniels, who missed extended time in both the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Daniels threw for 2,014 yards, 18 touchdowns and four interceptions while rushing for 425 yards and seven scores across nine games in 2022.

Texas Tech Red Raiders: 8.5

Texas Tech hasn’t won more than eight games since 2008, but Vegas believes this could be the year the Red Raiders top that mark. They lose quarterback Tyler Shough to the transfer portal, but return Behren Morton, who started in four games last season as a redshirt freshman.

Texas Tech also brings back Tahj Brooks, an explosive running back who ranked second in the Big 12 this past season with 1,538 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns. Those two players will aim to help improve an offense that finished nine in the Big 12 this past season in points per game (27.4).

UCF Knights: 8.5

UCF had the best season of any of the Big 12’s new additions in 2023, finishing with a 3-6 conference record. The Knights return several key playmakers, and Vegas likes their chances to improve upon that effort as a result.

Running back RJ Harvey is back after breaking out for 1,416 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2023, while receiver Kobe Hudson (44 catches, 900 yards, 8 TDs) also returns. The Knights lose starting quarterback John Rhys Plumlee, but got a big addition through the transfer portal to add KJ Jefferson from Arkansas.

Iowa State Cyclones: 7.5

The Cyclones have been one of the most consistent teams in the Big 12 the past eight seasons under Matt Campbell, winning at least seven games in six of those years. They should once again put out a respectable product in 2024.

The Cyclones return quarterback Rocco Becht, who won Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year this past season after throwing for 3,120 yards, 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He is set to get back his top two receiver from 2023, Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel.

Oklahoma State Cowboys: 7.5

The Cowboys were one of the best stories in the Big 12 this past season, winning seven of their final eight regular season games to reach the conference championship after a 2-2 start. They’ll return quarterback Alan Bowman, who was granted a seventh year of eligibility by the NCAA, and a Heisman candidate in running back Ollie Gordon.

Gordon led the FBS this past season with 1,732 yards rushing and 21 touchdowns on his way to being named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year. He’ll be the heartbeat of the Oklahoma State offense and a critical part in getting them past the seven-win mark for the 14th time in coach Mike Gundy’s 20th season.

TCU Horned Frogs: 7.5

After advancing to the national title in 2023, TCU took a major step backward to go just 5-7 this past season. The Horned Frogs ranked 10th in the Big 12 in total defense and gave up 27.8 points per game, certainly areas where they’ll want to make improvements.

TCU loses leading rusher Emani Bailey, but brings back quarterback Josh Hoover, who started over the back half of the season. He’ll also return leading receiver Savion Williams, who had 41 catches for 573 yards and four touchdowns.

West Virginia Mountaineers: 6.5

West Virginia was picked to finish last in the 2023 Big 12 preseason poll, but surprised everyone to finish 6-3 in conference play and tie for fourth place. The Mountaineers did so thanks to a rushing attack that led the Big 12 with 228.9 yards per game and a defensive thank ranked fifth in yards allowed per game.

Leading rusher Jahiem White returns, as is his fellow running back CJ Donaldson and starting quarterback Garrett Greene. This is a team that won nine games this past season, so the win total here even feels a little bit low, especially with OU and Texas out of the picture.

Remaining over/under win totals for the Big 12 in 2024

Baylor, Cincinnati and Colorado are all tied with a projected win total of 5.5 among the remaining teams. There’s a few interesting storylines to follow there as Bears coach Dave Aranda could find himself on the hot seat after back-to-back losing seasons. Meanwhile, Deion Sanders will aim to build upon his inaugural season with the Buffaloes. Arizona State, BYU and Houston are all at the bottom of the conference with win totals of 4.5
