Personal Life
Lots of high school running backs rush for more than 1,000 yards in a season, but few ever surpass the 2,000-yard mark in a single campaign. Yet that’s exactly what Ollie Gordon accomplished in 2020 on his way to being named the male high school athlete of the year in the area by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. His big season wasn’t a huge surprise. Gordon was named the district offensive newcomer of the year a season prior. Gordon entertained scholarship offers from coast to coast before opting to pledge to Oklahoma State, a program known for landing talented, powerful running backs just like Gordon. Gordon is known for his liberal use of a stiff arm and counts NFL Star Derrick Henry as a player he patterns his game after. He wants to be a pediatrician when his football career is over. His mother is Tarona Smith.
