Sunday is the day in which free agent running back Dalvin Cook meets with the New York Jets in hopes of securing a contract with the team.

Cook, released by the Minnesota Vikings on June 9, has been on the search for a new home and may very well find it in New York — a place that’s very desirable due to the presence of one man. That, of course, would be quarterback Aaron Rodgers — the four-time NFL MVP entering his first season with the Jets after coming over in a trade from the Green Bay Packers earlier this offseason.

Appearing on “Good Morning Football” Friday, Cook expressed his excitement to potentially get to play with Rodgers.

“A lot, man,” Cook said. “Just speaking of Aaron Rodgers, everyone knows what you’re getting with Aaron Rodgers. Going to play with a guy like that, the caliber of quarterback he is, that speaks for itself. I’ve been on the other side of that for the last six years. Just knowing the type of player he is, I’m excited about it.”

Cook added the chances are high that a deal between he and the Jets gets done.

“I think they’re pretty high, man,” Cook said. “I think [the Jets] are… a team that was building something special. And I want to be a part of something special, you know, as a player. And I want to add to just whatever they got going on. So I think the possibility is high right now and… of getting things done.”

Cook, 27, is coming off his fourth straight 1,000-yard rushing campaign. He suited up in all 17 games for the first time in his career, rushing for 1,173 yards on 4.4 yards per carry and eight touchdowns. Cook added 39 receptions for 295 yards and two scores through the air. In addition, he earned the fourth Pro Bowl nomination of his career.

Jets second-year wideout Garrett Wilson has talked up the possibility of the franchise landing the former Florida State standout.

“Dalvin [is] cold man, I’ve known about Dalvin Cook since he was at Florida State,” Wilson said last month. “I was a Florida State fan growing up. Obviously I’d love to add someone of that talent. The front office is going to make the right decision and Dalvin is going to make the best decision for him. I’m just speaking on my love for him and how he plays the game. Obviously I would love to play with someone like that.”
