Dave Portnoy reveals Jordon Hudson sent him a negative DM after Bill Belichick comments

Barstool Sports CEO and founder Dave Portnoy is used to receiving social media hate, whether it’s from Ohio State fans fed up with the diehard Michigan fan’s habitual trolling or his occassionally-controversial pizza takes. And while the millionaire entrepreneur generally just brushes off most online vitriol, one particular direct message last week sent chills down Portnoy’s spine.

Portnoy revealed Jordon Hudson, the infamous 24-year-old girlfriend of first-year North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick, sent him a DM from her personal X/Twitter account with a single emoji meant to express her dislike for the Barstool boss.

“I got a thumbs down from her. I got a DM, just a thumbs down (emoji) … rattled my cage,” Portnoy revealed Thursday on the Pardon My Take podcast. “I didn’t send her nothing.”

Pardon My Take co-producer Hank Lockwood then reminded Portnoy he called out Belichick’s coaching and suggested UNC should part ways with Belichick.

“I said something to that effect,” Portnoy agreed. “(Then) she DM’d me a thumbs down. That’s like The Godfather (when) ‘Luca Brasi’ swims with the fishes, I didn’t like getting that thumbs down. I was mad, I bet $200,000 on UNC and they looked like ass.

“They’re plus-6.5 against, who, Duke this week. Belichick does not, … I don’t know what he’s doing when he’s coaching,” Portnoy continued. “This last game, I watched it all, it was so depressing. They had no urgency, they’re huddling with like 3-4 minutes (to go) down two scores, then he calls timeout with like 20 seconds left. So, I was like, (Belichick) has to retire.”

Portnoy believes he drew Hudson’s ire after railing against Belichick during North Carolina‘s 28-13 road loss at Wake Forest on Nov. 15, when he flatly declared: “Belichick needs to retire. This is disgusting. I’m not even sure he knows the score or where he is.”

An hour earlier, Portnoy called out the 73-year-od Belichick’s coaching: “Watching UNC is so frustrating. It’s like an alien stole Belichick’s brain. Just horribly coached. Horrible decisions.” And while Portnoy stood by his retirement request, Portnoy made it clear he wasn’t implying anything about Hudson specifically.

“I was not calling her an alien, and I don’t know if she caught that one because I have other intel that says is was about saying he should retire,” Portnoy concluded, still bothered by Hudson’s emoji reaction. “I got a thumbs down. … Thumbs down is not good.”

Whether or not Portnoy was genuinely bothered by Hudson’s DM, he’s been far more supportive of her in recent days, especially after video of her participation in a co-ed adult cheerleading event went viral earlier this week.

Bill Belichick spotted supporting Jordon Hudson at cheerleading competition

North Carolina coach Bill Belichick isn’t in the habit of making apologies, and he’s certainly been unapologetic about his relationship with girlfriend Jordon Hudson. Hudson is 24 years old, creating a 50-year age gap with the legendary football coach.

But Belichick has done his part as a supportive boyfriend. That apparently includes supporting Hudson as a cheerleader.

According to Adam Kessel on Twitter, Belichick was spotted in Raleigh on Tuesday evening supporting Hudson at a co-ed, adult cheerleading competition. He included photos of both parties, as well as a link to video from the event.

Hudson previously served as a cheerleader at Bridgewater State University, continuing an endeavor she is quite fond of. Hudson is also a big figure on the pageantry circuit, where she finished as the first runner-up for Miss Maine USA in 2024.
