FanDuel provides $80,000 to get SEPTA running again for Eagles fans

How’s this for some uncommon news just before the 2025 NFL football season begins? FanDuel has ponied up a significant five-figure sum of money to help restore express train service for the Philadelphia Eagles ahead of the season opener on Thursday night.
SEPTA, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, confirmed to NBC10 that FanDuel provided $80,000 to help restore service. That comes just two days after the Eagles issued a travel advisory warning fans that the typical special sports express trains would not be running on Thursday for the matchup with the Dallas Cowboys due to ongoing service cuts.
On Wednesday, FanDuel announced its plan to provide the resources necessary to reopen the lines. The cost of the project was in part to cover base operations and in part to fund free rides home for Eagles fans.
“SEPTA will run regularly scheduled subway trains, plus Sports Express trips, before and after the game. Pre-game, Sports Express trips will run every 10 minutes to supplement Local service. Post-game, SEPTA will have 10 Express and six Local trains ready to get fans home from NRG Station. Post-game trips will operate over a period of approximately 70 minutes, and SEPTA urges fans to go to NRG station right after the game to ensure they can catch a train home,” a spokesperson wrote. “The FanDuel sponsorship covers free rides home for fans. The free rides from NRG Station begin at halftime and continue through the end of service.”
All in all, a great gesture from FanDuel. One that will undoubtedly see an influx of support from Eagles fans.
Eagles involved in Micah Parsons trade talks?
Another thing that could have seen a massive jolt of support for the reigning Super Bowl champions was the potential addition of superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons. Turns out Philadelphia was reportedly interested before he ultimately landed in Green Bay.

It’s now been reported by Adam Schefter on Get Up that the Eagles were also aggressive in their pursuit of Parsons. However, Dallas didn’t want to make a trade with a rival it sees twice per season.
“It’s certainly interesting because when the Dallas Cowboys were looking to trade Micah Parsons,” Schefter said. “One of the teams that showed the most interest in trading for Micah Parsons was the Philadelphia Eagles. They were fairly aggressive in trying to trade for Parsons, but the Dallas Cowboys, obviously, were not interested in trading Micah Parsons back to Pennsylvania, back in the division. They wanted him out of the division.”
Micah Parsons is a native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He’d go on to be a star at Penn State before becoming a first round NFL Draft pick by the Dallas Cowboys. Since then, he’s gone on to become one of the best defensive players in football.
He would have been a huge addition for the Eagles. Instead, fans will have to settle for free tickets on the express line. Oh, and those Super Bowl rings from a year ago.
