Florida and Miami are set to clash in a Week 4 non-conference matchup, with the game set to take place at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL. The Hurricanes are coming off a dominant 49-12 win against No. 18 ranked USF, a team that downed Florida 18-16 the week prior. The Gators meanwhile have now dropped two consecutive games, as they fell at No. 3 LSU 20-10.

Ahead of Week 4’s matchup, the early point spread and more have been revealed. All odds are courtesy of BetMGM. The Hurricanes have opened as a 9.5-point favorite over the Gators. The over/under is set at 52.5 points.

These programs met last season, marking the first meeting between the two programs in five years. No. 19 Miami rolled Florida 41-17 thanks to 385 passing yards and three touchdowns from future No. 1 Draft Pick Cam Ward.

How to watch Florida at Miami

Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
Channel: ABC
Location: Miami Gardens, FL

It was announced Saturday night that Miami Gardens will be the site of this week’s ‘ESPN College GameDay‘ for the first time since Sept. 26, 2020 (Florida State).

Miami has emerged as one of the top teams in all of college football this season, as it now boasts two ranked victories (No. 6 Notre Dame and No. 18 USF) and blew out Bethune-Cookman 45-3 in the week sandwiched between. By the time this game kicks off on Saturday, Miami will be ranked in the top-five of the AP Poll in a game against Florida for the first time since Sept. 6, 2003 (38-33 win).

This ranking is well warranted, as the Hurricanes have been dominant on both sides of the ball. Their offense, led by veteran quarterback Carson Beck, is averaging 481 yards and 40 points per game. Along with having (once again) one of the best offenses in the sport, Miami is holding its opponents to just 279 yards and 13 points per game on defense.

Miami‘s strong defense doesn’t bode well for Florida quarterback DJ Lagway, who threw five interceptions in the Gators’ loss to LSU. Lagway, who entered the season as a perennial Heisman Trophy candidate, has struggled mightily in his sophomore season. Through three games, he’s completed just 71% of his passes for 629 yards (210 per game), five touchdowns and six interceptions.

Following the loss to LSUBilly Napier sunk under .500 as the head coach in Gainesville with a win-loss record of 20-21. A loss to Miami on Saturday would make this mark 20-22, which would certainly increase fan outrage which has slowly been building throughout the past two seasons. A win over the Hurricanes would certainly help him buy some good graces with the Gator fans/boosters, but a loss (which would send Florida to 1-3) would be detrimental for Napier.

Miami has not dropped a home game to Florida since Sept. 7, 1985.
