After suffering a 25-24 defeat to the Atlanta Falcons (2-0) in Week 2, the Green Bay Packers (1-1) will look to rebound in Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints (2-0) this Sunday.

Hopefully for Green Bay, they’ll be a bit more at full strength after being without several key players against Atlanta. Running back Aaron Jones, left tackle David Bakhtiari and receiver Christian Watson all missed out on the action nursing injuries.

All three remain on Wednesday’s injury report, along with a few more additions. Left guard Elgton Jenkins did not participate and is expected to be sidelined for multiple weeks after he sustained a left knee injury versus Atlanta. Jenkins revealed Monday he was diagnosed with a sprained MCL on the same knee he tore his ACL which ended his 2021 season. Jenkins blamed the injury on the turf at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

“I felt like it had something to do with it,” Jenkins said, via ESPN. “Foot got caught in the ground and the turf didn’t want to give, and all those good things. But yeah, it was just unfortunate, but it is what it is. It’s football.”

While the Saints are dealing with far less injuries than the Packers, the running back situation remains murky at best. Already without Alvin Kamara due to his three-game suspension for violating the league’s personal conduct policy, Jamaal Williams pulled up with a hamstring injury in the 20-17 Week 2 victory over the Carolina Panthers (0-2). Williams did not practice Wednesday and is expected to miss some time, head coach Dennis Allen said Tuesday.

The good news, however, is that 2023 third-round pick Kendre Miller was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice. The former TCU star tailback has yet to make his NFL debut, but should get his first shot against the Packers.

“I think probably physically he could’ve played,” Allen said. “That was more of a decision on my part, a rookie player that wasn’t able to fully participate in practice during the week, I just didn’t feel like that was the right thing for our team to put him in the game. … I expect him to be pretty much full go this week and we’ll see where he’s at for game day, but I would expect there’s a good chance we’ll see him this week.”
