Greg Biffle to make ARCA return at Tri-City Raceway

Former NASCAR Cup Series driver Greg Biffle will go racing again next weekend. Biffle will pilot the No. 23 Chevrolet for Sigma Performance Services in the Aug. 9 ARCA Menards Series West event at Tri-City Raceway.
Biffle, 55, competed at Tri-City last year for SPS, finishing ninth in what was his first ARCA start since 1996. A former champion at Tri-City, Biffle will return to the West Richland, Wash. track looking for even more.
“Having Greg Biffle back at Tri-City Raceway creates an atmosphere you can’t find anywhere else,” said Joe Farré, SPS Team Owner. “This track, these fans, and a driver of his caliber make this more than a race—it’s an experience fans will never forget, and we’re proud to be a part of it.”
Tri-City means a lot to Biffle, who was born in Vancouver, Wash., and began his racing career competing on short tracks around the pacific northwest. Likewise, it’s a big deal for Tri-City to have Biffle back on the ½-mile tri-oval.

“We’re honored and excited to welcome Greg Biffle back to Tri-City Raceway for the ARCA Menards Series West,” said Greg Walden, Tri-City promoter. “A big thank you to Joe Farré and the SPS team, and to our presenting sponsor, Vickie Smith of Desert Food Mart, for making this possible.”
Greg Biffle had a successful run in NASCAR
Biffle made a name for himself in NASCAR in the late 90s and early 2000s, winning a Truck Series championship in 2000 and a Xfinity Series title in 2002. He raced full-time in the Cup Series from 2003-2016, driving the No. 16 Ford for Roush Fenway Racing. Biffle compiled 19 wins in NASCAR’s top series, finishing runner-up to Tony Stewart in the Chase for the 2005 championship.
“I’m excited to be back at Tri-City Raceway for a second year with SPS,” Biffle said. “I feel like I have some unfinished business from last year, and I’m thankful we were able to put this deal together on short notice. Sigma puts a great car on the track, and I can’t wait to get behind the wheel again. I really enjoyed racing with the drivers last year, and I’m looking forward to battling both familiar faces and some new competition.”
