Jeremiah Fears shows off burgundy suit, massive No. 0 chain prior to NBA Draft

Oklahoma guard Jeremiah Fears is soaking it all in prior to being selected in Wednesday night’s NBA Draft.

He joined ESPN’s pre-draft show to discuss his outfit, draped in all burgundy and a ‘0’ chain draped around his neck. “I had to go with the all black Gucci,” Fears said about his shoes. “It just kind of matches my outfit.”

Fears, who averaged a team-leading 17.1 points and 4.1 assists this past season, is widely-projected to be a top-five pick in Wednesday’s NBA Draft, with On3‘s James Fletcher III ranking the Sooners’ 6-foot-4 guard as his No. 7 overall prospect in his Final Mock Draft.

While there are elements of his game that can still use work, there’s little doubt that Fears has the talent to be a monster at the next level. He can do it all. The 6-foot-4, 182-pound freshman credits his family with giving him the confidence to make the move to the next level. He explained.

“They were very excited for me just throughout the whole process,” Fears said. “It was nothing but love and support throughout the whole process. Like you said, it was mixed emotions between me coming back and me moving forward and declaring for the NBA Draft. But overall they’re just excited and that kind of support played a big role for me.”

Fears had several big-time performances during his lone season at Oklahoma, but his play in the NCAA Tournament might have taken the cake. In a first-round loss to UConn, Fears chipped in 20 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals, stuffing the stat sheet.

He even turned in one double-double this season, doing so with a 27-point, 10-assist performance in a win over a ranked Mississippi State team. That was one of 12 performances with at least 20 points. Fears recorded a career-high 31 points in a win over ranked Missouri, while also pouring in 30 in a win over ranked Michigan.
