During a commercial break following the Thursday Night Football postgame set following Green Bay‘s 27-18 win over Washington, new Packers pass rusher Micah Parsons was recorded bouncing his head along to the Packers fans in attendance. The crowd was chanting a “Thank you, Jerry” chant as he prepared for a postgame interview.

The 26-year-old Parsons was traded by the Dallas Cowboys and team owner Jerry Jones to the Packers on Aug. 28, one week before the Cowboys opened the 2025 NFL season against the Philadelphia Eagles on TNF. The Packers traded away 29-year-old nose tackle Kenny Clark and their first-round pick in the 2026 and 2027 NFL drafts to acquire the two-time All-Pro pass rusher.

The clip of the Packers fans publicly thanking Jones for making such a move — which only came after contract negotiations between Parsons and the Cowboys broke down when Jones refused to work with Parsons’ agent, David Mulugheta — made its way to Dallas. The 82-year-old owner responded during a Friday appearance on 105.3-FM The Fan.

“The way Green Bay is playing, I’m all for them chanting anything they want to,” Jones said Friday on 105.3 The Fan, according to the Dallas News Joseph Hoyt. “I knew this was coming … if I got to make this trade, this was coming.”

Micah Parsons fires up Packers fans amid ‘Thank you, Jerry’ chants during TNF postgame show

After a monster performance on Thursday Night Football against the Washington Commanders, Micah Parsons took the stage for the TNF postgame show. As he did, the Green Bay Packers fans in attendance had a message.

The crowd broke into a “Thank you, Jerry” chant as Parsons took the stage. It started as the Amazon Prime broadcast returned from commercial, meaning the cameras were rolling as the star linebacker sat in the middle of the stage on Lambeau Field following the 27-18 victory in primetime.

Parsons had two tackles for the Packers in Thursday’s victory and was also in on a sack of Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels. It came on the heels of a huge showing in his Green Bay debut when he had a sack in somewhat limited action, given the quick turnaround following his trade from the Cowboys.
