Jerry Jones takes jab at Micah Parsons over Cowboys tenure: 'We didn't exactly win the Super Bowl those years'

Sunday will be exactly one full month since the Dallas Cowboys shocked the world by trading superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers a week before the start of the season. That seismic trade has been the talk of the NFL in the weeks since, all of which come to ahead Sunday night on NBC when the Cowboys host Parson and the Packers in primetime.
But ahead of Parsons’ much-anticipated return to Dallas, longtime Cowboys owner Jerry Jones — the man that orchestrated the trade after contract negotiations with Parsons broke down — went on local radio Friday morning and suggested Dallas might already know how to slow down the Packers’ star pass rusher Sunday night.
“There’s no doubt about it that Micah is special and we all know he is, and he can be disruptive. But we’ve got huge amounts of experience with anecdotes that we’ve seen used on us for the last four years,” Jones said Friday morning on 105.3 FM The Fan. “And while he does make great plays, there’s also a way to approach playing against Micah as we know because we didn’t exactly win the Super Bowl during those years.
“The bottom line is, when I look at playing (against Parsons), I think of trying to have him as an advantage when we were playing other teams over the last four years. Some plays it looks beautiful, but then other plays, especially running plays, you wish you would’ve had a different formation.”

“It’s gonna be different,” Tyler Smith said, per Jon Machota of The Athletic. “But I think we both understand as professionals, obviously, I have a lot of love for him as a person off the field and things of that nature, even on it. But when we step between the white lines, there can only be one winner. I got a star on my helmet. That’s all that matters to me.”
Smith played with Micah Parsons in Dallas from 2022 to 2024. The Cowboys selected Parsons in the first round of the 2021 draft. The team then selected Smith in the first round of the following year.
In the three seasons together, Smith and Parsons saw plenty of individual success. Smith was named to the Pro Bowl the last two years and was selected to the All-Pro Second Team in 2023. Parsons was named to the Pro Bowl four times and was named to the All-Pro Team three times.
