USC star JuJu Watkins made an appearance at the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday. However, she wasn’t alone as she had a special guest with her.

Watkins was seated next to Jake from State Farm, whom she has also done commercials with. State Farm is also partnered with several other WNBA players such as Caitlin Clark, Sabrina Ionescu and others.

Watkins is coming off of her sophomore season with the Trojans. She was named the AP Player of the Year after averaging 23.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.2 steals and 1.8 blocks per game.

She led USC to a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament but unfortunately suffered a torn ACL in her right knee during a second riound game against Mississippi State. The Trojans managed to advance to the Elite Eight in spite of her injury before falling against eventual champion Connecticut.

Watkins and the other fans in attendance were treated to an exciting WNBA All-Star game at Team Collier previaled 151-131 over Team Clark. Napheesa Collier had a team-high 36 points and nine rebounds while Skylar Diggins recorded a triple-double with 11 points, 15 assists and 11 rebounds off the bench.

Watkins will look to come back strong in her recovery, with it still unclear if she can play her junior season at USC in 2025-26. She still has two more years before she will be eligible to enter the WNBA Draft in 2027.

JuJu Watkins injury update: USC star updates her recovery

Due to the timing of the injury, she will likely miss most – if not all – of the 2025-26 season. Initially, Watkins struggled to deal with such a devastating injury, which will require surgery. But she made it clear she’s keeping a strong mindset during the rehabilitation process so she can get back on the court as quickly as she can.

Watkins is also keeping things in perspective when it comes to one of the biggest hurdles she’ll have to overcome in her career. The next step will be recovering from the injury and, most importantly, coming back strong.

“I’m a firm believer in, ‘everything happens for a reason,’” Watkins said on College GameDay in April. “I think my first week, I was just in complete shock. It’s the first time I’ve dealt with this type of adversity. So I’m really just getting prepared for what’s to come and ready to just get to work and get to work in rehab so I’m back on the floor with my teammates.”
