Seattle Seahawks running back Kenny McIntosh is believed to have suffered a torn ACL, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. McIntosh had to be helped off the field at training camp on Saturday and will undergo further testing to confirm the injury.

The running back was getting ready to enter his third season in the NFL after the Seahawks took him in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft out of Georgia. He played in all 17 games for Seattle this past season to finish with 172 yards rushing on 31 carries.

McIntosh was expected to continue his role as a reserve running back behind starter Kenneth Walker III this upcoming season. But if the initial report of an ACL tear ends up being confirmed by doctors, he’ll unfortunately likely miss the entire season.

Other running backs in Seattle’s roster include Zach Charbonnet and rookie Damien Martinez, whom the team drafted in the seventh round this offseason out of Miami. They’ll all be expected to step up if McIntosh is confirmed to be out, and the Seahawks may also sign another player to increase the depth of the RB room.

Seattle is coming off of a 10-7 finish this past season but missed out on the postseason despite finishing second in its division. The injury to McIntosh is a major blow before the season even starts, but they’ll hope they have what it takes to overcome.
