Former Georgia Bulldogs running back Zamir White is officially a member of an NFL roster. On Wednesday, the Raiders announced they have signed their fourth-round pick.

Coming out of high school, White was the top running back in the 2017 recruiting class, according to On3’s recruiting database. White was named to the USA Today 2017 All-USA First Team offense, NCPreps Player of the Year, and N.C. All-State First Team after rushing for 2,086 yards and 34 touchdowns in 11 games his senior season. He was ranked 11 in his class and received offers from some of the top programs in college football before ultimately committing to the Bulldogs.

The five-foot-11 Laurinburg, NC, native played three years at Georgia. White played in 38 games with 23 starts during his time with the Bulldogs. He finished his career with a total of 382 carries for 2,043 rushing yards, averaging 5.3 per carry, and 25 rushing touchdowns. Despite not being a consistent feature running back at Georgia, his 2,043 rushing yards rank 15th on the program’s career list. Las Vegas selected White in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft with the 122nd overall pick.

White reveals which NFL running back he runs like

Zamir White believes he can ascend to become one of the top running backs in the entire NFL.

The former Georgia star proved his worth time and time again in Athens, but he’ll have to do it all over again in the NFL with the Raiders. Speaking with the media following being drafted by Las Vegas, White revealed which NFL running backs he believes he runs like.

“I’d say like a [Nick] Chubb, or a [Leonard] Fournette. That type of guy,” responded White.

Evidently, White isn’t short on confidence — Chubb and Fournette have elevated into two of the best in the entire league over their time in the NFL. White has big shoes to fill if he’s to catch them, but there’s no reason to think the bruising running back won’t be able to.

Last season, White realized his dream of bringing a championship to Georgia, helping to end a drought that spanned over 40 years when the Bulldogs defeated Alabama in the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship Game. Additionally, he scored the first touchdown for Georgia in the aforementioned title victory, leading the Bulldogs in rushing, as well.

The future is bright for Zamir White in Las Vegas, and the former Georgia running back isn’t boxing himself in.
