After a monster performance on Thursday Night Football against the Washington Commanders, Micah Parsons took the stage for the TNF postgame show. As he did, the Green Bay Packers fans in attendance had a message.

The crowd broke into a “Thank you, Jerry” chant as Parsons took the stage. It started as the Amazon Prime broadcast returned from commercial, meaning the cameras were rolling as the star linebacker sat in the middle of the stage on Lambeau Field following the 27-18 victory in primetime.

Parsons fired up the crowd and bobbed his head along as the chants rang out. Of course, they were referring to Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who traded Parsons to the Packers just one week before the 2025 season began.

Parsons had two tackles for the Packers in Thursday’s victory and was also in on a sack of Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels. It came on the heels of a huge showing in his Green Bay debut when he had a sack in somewhat limited action, given the quick turnaround following his trade from the Cowboys.

Still, Parsons’ impact on the Packers defense has been apparent. He drew some high praise from his former coach Mike McCarthy, who discussed Parsons’ debut during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show Thursday.

“There’s definitely a big buzz.  Everywhere I know I go, that’s the first or second question: how’s Micah doing? How’s he going to be here in Green Bay?” McCarthy said. “Being at the game, definitely felt the buzz. … I got a kick out of watching him on the sidelines because he was chomping at the bit. He was like a caged lion getting ready to go in there.

“From the first time he got in at that first third down, Micah has an effect. The defensive backs are definitely going to benefit from it in pass defense, and definitely, the guys up front. I was very impressed with the Packers. I thought they played at a really high level from the start of the game all the way through, and I was very impressed with the defensive front.”

The Packers sent two first-round picks to the Cowboys, along with defensive tackle Kenny Clark, in exchange for Micah Parsons just one week before the season officially began. They also gave him a lucrative contract extension to make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history with a four-year, $188 million deal – including $136 million in total guarantees.
