Micah Parsons injury update: Agent David Mulugheta provides update on Packers LB's back injury, status for Week 1

Amid the public contract and trade saga, Green Bay Packers linebacker Micah Parsons has been dealing with a back injury. Parsons, acquired last Thursday from the Dallas Cowboys, could require an epidural injection to help him play in Sunday’s Week 1 home contest against the Detroit Lions.
Parsons’ agent, David Mulugheta, said Tuesday they will wait till the weekend to determine if he needs the shot. Mulugheta added Parsons’ back is “doing much better.”
“His back is doing much better,” Mulugheta said. “He was prescribed some anti-inflammatory steroids or something of sort by the Cowboys, which he’s been on for almost a week now. If that doesn’t get him to a point where he can get on the field, I know Micah’s going to do everything he can to get on the football field for the Packers.
“We’ll wait and see how he feels going to this weekend and whether that shot is going to be necessary or not. What I will tell you is Micah is going to do everything he can to be on the football field, the same way he was in a Cowboys jersey.”
Packers will be a scary defense with Micah Parsons on the field
Parsons, 26, said that he was feeling great physically during his introductory press conference with the Packers. He planned to meet with team doctors and work on piecing a recovery plan together and assured that he’s working diligently on his return. Parsons said himself that Green Bay didn’t “give up what they gave up” for him to simply sit on the sidelines.

When he’s on the field, you know what you can expect. Parsons, now the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history, has 52.5 sacks over his four seasons in the league. Green bay already had a good defense; they could be great with Parsons coming off the edge.
“Nightmares for the offensive side of the ball,” linebacker Edgerrin Cooper said, via Packers.com. “I feel like Haf’s [defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley] gonna have a pretty fun time with us, so ready to look towards that.
“In my perspective, offenses can’t focus on one type of blitzer, one type of pass rusher. We got guys coming from both sides, and we got RG [Rashan Gary], now we got him.”
