Micah Parsons might be a step closer to getting his trade request granted. Reports from ESPN’s Adam Schefter say the Dallas Cowboys are listening to offers on Parsons for the first time. Teams are reaching out and attempting to get a deal done.

Exactly where Parsons might land is a mystery. However, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler listed three teams who “make sense” across league circles. One falls in the AFC, potentially trading Parsons to a big-time Super Bowl contender. The other two fall in the NFC, opponents the Cowboys would see on a more regular basis.

“Last week, Cowboys had received multiple inquiries but hadn’t been willing to move on them barring an otherworldly offer,” Fowler said via X. “Teams that make sense in league circles: Packers, Ravens, Cardinals.”

To this point, most rumors surrounding Parsons have involved the Green Bay Packers. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport mentioned them as a possibility when hosting the Pat McAfee Show. He explained why the Packers might be interested — besides obvious reasons — saying they might view Parsons as the final piece.

“That’s the kind of team that I would say, if Micah were to be traded, he would be going to,” Rapoport. “Like, ‘We need one final piece. This guy is an absolute dog. He’s worth all the money so pay him all the money.’ … It would be worth it.”

Certainly, more attempts should come from teams out there than just the Packers. Fowler mentions the Arizona Cardinals and Baltimore Ravens. Two franchises looking to take steps forward from where they currently are. Parsons would help the cause immensely.

Dallas Cowboys looking for “substantial” package in return for Micah Parsons

According to Nick Harris of the Fort Worth-Star Telegram, the Cowboys would want a “substantial” amount of draft picks for Parsons, along with a player ready to contribute to this year’s team. Losing somebody such as Parsons would be a big blow for both the short and long term.

“For the Cowboys to engage in a trade, the deal would have to not only include substantial draft capital, but also a player who can immediately contribute, according to a team source,” Harris said.

A lot of comparisons to the famous Khalil Mack trade between the then-Oakland Raiders and Chicago Bears have popped up when discussing Parsons. Chicago gave up two first-round picks, a third-rounder, and a sixth to acquire Mack. He, too, was in a contract dispute before getting shipped out for a hefty package.
