Micah Parsons trade request: Report reveals what Dallas Cowboys are seeking in return for star defender

For the first time since Micah Parsons requested a trade, the Dallas Cowboys are reportedly considering moving him. The decision only brings on more questions, one of which is what Dallas would get in return. Unsurprisingly, the answer appears to be a whole lot.
According to Nick Harris of the Fort Worth-Star Telegram, the Cowboys would want a “substantial” amount of draft picks for Parsons, along with a player ready to contribute to this year’s team. Losing somebody such as Parsons would be a big blow for both the short and long term.
“For the Cowboys to engage in a trade, the deal would have to not only include substantial draft capital, but also a player who can immediately contribute, according to a team source,” Harris said.
A lot of comparisons to the famous Khalil Mack trade between the then-Oakland Raiders and Chicago Bears have popped up when discussing Parsons. Chicago gave up two first-round picks, a third-rounder, and a sixth to acquire Mack. He, too, was in a contract dispute before getting shipped out for a hefty package.
Moving ahead of few years, Parsons is entering the final year of his rookie contract. At just 26 years old, he has recorded double-digit sack seasons on four occasions. Only three others have done so to begin their NFL career. Now entering his prime, the hope is for Parsons to get only better.

Whether or not he will do so wearing a Cowboys uniform, we may know in the coming days. Dallas must decide if an extension if possible or if a possible trade return is deemed suitable for them.
Dallas Cowboys change tune, potentially looking to trade Micah Parsons
On Aug. 1, Micah Parsons publicly announced he’d requested a trade from the Dallas Cowboys. The team’s leadership previously stated it had no interest in trading the four-time Pro Bowler. However, on Thursday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed the Cowboys may be changing their minds.
“Several teams have spoken to the Dallas Cowboys about a potential Micah Parsons’ trade and for the first time the Cowboys appear willing to at least listen,” Schefter wrote on X. “… The Cowboys would like to resolve the situation, one way or another, in the coming days with their season opener next Thursday against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Cowboys hold their first full practice in preparation for the Eagles on Friday.”
