WATCH: Najee Harris, Josh Jacobs share moment following Christmas Eve matchup

Christmas is all about spending time with family. When it comes to football, few families or fraternities have their ties run deeper than the one in Tuscaloosa. Even after a hard-fought 13-10 win for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Eve over the Las Vegas Raiders, Najee Harris and Josh Jacobs put that fact on full display.
Harris and Jacobs came together for a hug when they reunited in Acrisure Stadium on Saturday night. The two star backs shared a backfield together for two seasons at Alabama. That relationship looked to still be fully intact based on their reactions to seeing one another last night.
Harris finished with the better stat line on the night with 53 rushing yards on 16 attempts. He also caught six passes for 42 yards. Meanwhile, Jacobs had one of the less productive games of his season with only 44 rush yards on 15 attempts.
Harris and Jacobs finished as two of Alabama’s leading rushers in their two seasons together in 2017 and 2018. In 2017, they combined for 654 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the Tide’s 13-1 national championship team. They kicked it up a notch in 2018 with 1,423 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns.

Those numbers are even more impressive considering they shared the backfield with names like Damien Harris, Brian Robinson Jr., Bo Scarbrough, and a rushing quarterback in 2017 in Jalen Hurts. Their stats helped Jacobs get drafted in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft and, after that, Harris in the first round of 2021’s draft.
Harris and Jacobs are two of Alabama’s best players of the last several years. They’ve now both gone on to start their NFL careers as productive as any backs in the league. Harris and the Steelers may have come out on top over Jacob’s Raiders, but it still gave everyone in T-Town this great moment featuring two of the Tide’s best.
