Then, Johnson turned his appreciation toward the people he shared the field with: “To my teammates, thank you for pushing me, believing in me, and battling beside me every single day,” he added. The brotherhood we’ve built on and off the field has been invaluable, and I’ll carry the lessons, memories, and camaraderie with me forever.
“Lastly, to the Nebraska fans, the best in college football, your unwavering support has meant the world to me. After much prayer and reflection, I am officially declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft. Thank you, Nebraska. GBR forever!”
Over three seasons in Lincoln, Johnson rushed 458 times for 2,460 yards and 15 touchdowns. His breakout 2025 campaign — 251 carries, 1,451 yards and 12 touchdowns — cemented him as one of the Big Ten’s most productive backs and a legitimate NFL prospect.
Now, he’s onto the next level. We’ll see where he ends up, but he’s ready to take on each and every challenge due to his experience in Lincoln over the last three years.
