Paris 2024 Olympic medal count by NCAA conference after four days of competition

The 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris feel like they’ve already provided plenty of exciting action only four days into the games. A stretch that the United States has dominated so far to lead all countries with 27 total medals.

For America and beyond many Olympians spent time competing at the college level before gracing the podium in Paris. Representing not just their country, but a college and a conference, with several conferences already having impressive representation in Paris through four days of Olympic action.

Atlantic Coast Conference

6 Gold, 9 Silver, 7 Bronze

The ACC’s medal count jumps from 13 to 22 from Day 2 of the Olympics to Day 4. Highlighted by conference newcomer Stanford continuing to rack up medals in Paris. Particularly the swimming pool where current and former Cardinal student-athletes have been dominant in Paris so far.

Junior swimmer Torri Huske took home the first gold medal of her career for the Women’s 100M Butterfly along with eight podium appearances from Stanford athletes. All in swimming except for Vivian Kong who won the gold in the individual épée.

Southeastern Conference

2 Gold, 8 Silver, 4 Bronze

Swimming has also been the cornerstone of the SEC’s impressive showing in during the Olympics. Racking up a total of 14 medals with just one coming outside of the water.

Former Auburn gymnast Sunsia Lee took the podium as a part of America’s Women’s Gymnastics Team that took home the gold for the third time in the last four Olympics. As Texas has led the SEC with five medals in swimming followed by Florida with four, Tennessee with two, and Georgia and LSU taking home one apiece.

Big Ten Conference

3 Gold, 2 Silver, 6 Bronze

The Big Ten led all conferences with 131 United States selections in the Olympics. But they still trail the SEC and the ACC in medals through four days of action in Paris.

Former Ohio State standout Hunter Armstrong was a part of Team USA’s Men’s 4x100M Freestyle Relay team that took home a gold medal. With male gymnasts Paul Juda and Stephen Nedoroscik both playing their part in America’s bronze medal finish in the Gymnastics Artistic Team All-Around while representing Michigan and Penn State respectively.

Big 12 Conference

1 Gold0 Silver, 0 Bronze

The only medal to come out of the Big 12 so far in Paris has been from swimmer Leon Marchand. Who’s representing France and competed at Arizona State during his collegiate career.

The 22-year-old Toulouse, France native took home his first Olympic gold medal In the Men’s 400M Individual Medley. Posting close to a world record time with a 4:02.95 in a dominant performance in front of an electric crowd in his home country.
