The Philadelphia Eagles reportedly picked up the fifth-year option for defensive tackle Jordan Davis, according to Fox Sports‘ Jordan Schultz. He’ll be guaranteed $12.9 million for the 2026 season.

In three years with the Eagles, Davis has 90 total tackles, six tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, two pass deflections, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble. Davis has started every game the last two seasons for Philadelphia and helped the team win Super Bowl LIX this past season.

He was the No. 13 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Georgia and was a key piece into rebuilding Philadelphia’s defensive line with young talent. The team drafted his college teammate Jalen Carter a year later and Carter has emerged as one of the best defensive tackles in the game.

As a member of the Class of 2018, Davis was a three-star recruit out of Charlotte (N.C.) Mallard Creek, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 15 overall prospect in the state, the No. 39 defensive lineman in the class and the No. 406 overall prospect in the class.

Davis and other Georgia players on the Eagles, such as Carter, EDGE rusher Nolan Smith and linebacker Nakobe Dean were key in 2024-25 for Philadelphia. The development was evident this past season as everything came together.

“A big part of it has to do with the Georgia background on defense,” Eagles QB Jalen Hurts said. “I think that starts with Nakobe Dean and all of those guys who were able to play ball in college together and bring their ways to the League. I think that has a big impact on our culture on defense, how they play, how together they are. I think that seeps through the team in many ways.”

Going into 2025, the Eagles are one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl again. Philadelphia will look for its second straight title and third appearance in the last four years.

Davis and the rest of a rebuilt Eagles’ defense will be key as Hurts pilots a talented offense. Following some veteran departures, the Eagles drafted some more SEC stars on defense such as LB Jihaad Campbell (Alabama), S Andrew Mukuba (Texas) and a Big Ten stud in DT Ty Robinson (Nebraska).
