For as good as the Miami Dolphins have beem so far this season, they’ve been missing one of their biggest offseason acquisitions, CB Jalen Ramsey, for the entire time. However, that could change soon with the three-time All-Pro nearing a return.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network suggested as much in a tweet and story on Sunday. Per his reporting, Ramsey could be back for Miami before their bye week since they opened his 21-day practice window on October 18th.

“Ramsey’s return to game-action is approaching after Miami opened his 21-day practice window on Oct. 18th,” wrote Rapoport. “Sources explained how Ramsey is so close to being back on the field after undergoing knee surgery to repair his meniscus in late July.”

Miami acquired Ramsey in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams back in March. He hasn’t been able to participate yet this season, though, after a partial tear of his meniscus and a surgery that followed back at the end of July.

After the Dolphins opened Ramsey’s practice window, Mike McDaniel commented that “there’s a chance” that he will make his season debut before the team’s bye in Week 10.

“I think it’s fair to say there’s a chance,” McDaniel said. “I’m just not going to – case in point, the target date? I didn’t share because I don’t know. You’ve got to take it one day at a time with those type of things. But I would say that I’m cautiously optimistic.”

If Ramsey does make it back, that would mean an appearance either for a divisional matchup with the New England Patriots or Miami’s trip to Germany at the start of November to play the Kansas City Chiefs.

Miami’s defense, which currently ranks 27th in the NFL, could use the extra help. That’s why a return from Ramsey, a six-time Pro Bowler with 452 tackles and 19 interceptions in his 108 games as a pro, would be such a welcome addition for the Dolphins as they reach the halfway point of the season.

Dolphins share injury update for Isaiah Wynn, Jaylen Waddle

The Dolphins have injury updates on multiple players. Cameron Wolfe of the NFL Network reported on some of the updates on Monday.

Per Wolfe’s tweet, LG Isaiah Wynn will miss “weeks” with a quad injury.

Additionally, WR Jaylen Waddle will practice this week after the team “found a solution” for his back injury.

Finally, LB David Long was cleared from concussion protocol later on Sunday night.
