NASCAR driver Ross Chastain spent his Sunday at the Houston Texans vs. Arizona Cardinals game. Before the game, the Texans shared a video of Chastain wearing a Texans jersey at NRG Stadium.

“What’s up, Houston?” Ross Chastain said in the video. “NASCAR driver Ross Chastain here for the game today. Go Texans!”

It’s not clear why Chastain was at the Texans game, but he does have history in Texas, as he won his first NASCAR Cup Series race in Austin in 2022. Austin is about three and a half hours from Houston.

Chastain got to see an entertaining contest, as the Texans took down the Cardinals 40-20. Houston QB CJ Stroud threw for 260 yards and three touchdowns, and wide receiver Nico Collins caught three passes for 85 yards and two scores. The Texans are now 9-5 on the year and one game behind the Jacksonville Jaguars for the lead in the AFC South.

“We’re getting hot at the right time,” Stroud said after Sunday’s game, per DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN. “We’re starting to trend up towards December, going into January. We got to keep this going. But it’s one-game-at-a-time mentality, one-play-at-a-time mentality.”

“We left a lot of the plays out there,” Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said. “We have to keep playing up to our standard. That’s what we judge ourselves against, the standard. The standard is the standard. It doesn’t change. So, we’ll continue to look at the tape intently and see where we can get better.”

The Texans are looking to reach the postseason for the third consecutive season and the ninth time in franchise history. The team entered the NFL in 2002 and have yet to play in a conference championship game.

Chastain is in a similar boat, as he’s looking to win his first NASCAR Cup Series championship. The 33-year-old has reached the playoffs three times in the last four years, and his best finish was second in 2022. This past season, Chastain clinched a playoff spot after winning the Coca-Cola 600 in May. He ended the year in 10th place in the final standings.
