Ryan Preece called out Carson Hocevar for the wreck they were involved in at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday. After the race, Preece spoke to reporters about the wreck.

“I think I know who it was. I think it was the 77 (Hocevar),” Ryan Preece said, per Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports. “It’s alright. He just seems to be proving me right over and over again. Really fast race car. …Just Got ran into the fence by somebody who has no respect for his equipment and any other driver out there. He’ll have his day.”

Carson Hocevar has had his share of issues during his first season as a full-time NASCAR Cup Series driver. The most notable incident came in February when he was confronted by Ryan Blaney and Ross Chastain for his aggressive driving.

“We’re here to win races, not be a boy band and love each other and play in the playground together,” Hocevar said after the Atlanta race. “Obviously, there’s learning lessons. You don’t want to piss anybody off or frustrate anybody. There’s things I would clean up for sure.

“It’s going to come with learning that. …I’m normally 40th waiting for them to crash and hopefully crash and I finish in the teens. To be up front and get stage points both stages and have a shot to win is something to hold my head high. I’ve always said I’m a really bad superspeedway racer, so this at least gives me a little bit more confidence.”

It’s been a tough couple of weeks for Preece. After finishing second at Talladega last week, NASCAR disqualified Preece for a spoiler issue. So far this season, Preece has not won a race and has earned three top-10 finishes.

Last week, Preece talked about the impact of his Talladega disqualification. “It’s not like it was a performance thing. I don’t think you’d want to add a shim to put spoiler angle in a car. It was to meet the rule that to pass tech, and in the heat of the battle, you’re just trying to get through tech. So, you know, it is what it is,” Preece stated.

“The thing that I like about our group is we’ll go out there, execute, get stage points and keep putting ourselves in positions to have great days like that. Yeah, just keep fighting.”
