Scott Hanson is ready to see Travis Hunter in action when NFL RedZone returns this fall. On3 recently spoke to the NFL RedZone host and revealed that the Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver/cornerback is the rookie he’s looking forward to covering the most.

“I can’t wait to call Travis Hunter’s first NFL touchdown, because I think he’ll have many and I think he’ll have many on both sides of the ball,” Scott Hanson told On3. “I can’t wait to see how many snaps he plays on whatever becomes the opposite side of the football for him. Because I believe whoever drafts him will use him primarily at one or the other and then sprinkle him at the opposite position, right?”

Hanson continued, “Let’s just say the team that drafts him uses him at wide receiver. I think he’ll play 10, 12, 15, 20 snaps at corner. Hey, it’s third and nine, they’re going to throw the football. There’s Justin Jefferson, go lock him down. There’s CeeDee Lamb, go cover him. There’s Amon-Ra St. Brown, you’re on him.

“If he’s a corner, I think there’ll be 10, 12, 15 plays a game where they say, hey, we’re in the red zone. Hey, we’re first and goal from the five. It’s jump ball time. You’re the best guy we’ve got for it. I can’t wait to see Travis Hunter on RedZone. It’s going to be fantastic.”

Travis Hunter is ready to ‘prove’ the Jaguars right

Travis Hunter was crowned college football’s most outstanding player in 2024. The Atlanta native won the Heisman Trophy last season after catching 96 passes for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns as a receiver. As a defensive back, the 21-year-old recorded 36 tackles with four interceptions and 11 passes defended.

“I’ve just got to go out there and prove them right,” Hunter said after the Jaguars traded up four spots in the first round to select him at No. 2 overall, per the Jaguars’ official website. “It’s definitely a lot of motivation. They sacrificed a lot to get me. That means they believe in me. That just validates that I need to go ahead and just do my job.”

“I’m going to come out and do my job,” Hunter added. “I’m not going to say I’m going to change anything. I don’t want to set the expectation too high. I’m just going to come in and do my job, and hopefully, we change the atmosphere.”
