Super Bowl LIX ticket prices plummet ahead of game

Turns out not even expected appearances by Donald Trump and Taylor Swift are enough to boost downward ticket sale trends for Sunday night’s Super Bowl LIX.
Secondary-market tickets for Super Bowl LIX have plunged to the lowest prices in more than five years, according to Yahoo! Sports’ Charles Robinson.
Robinson cited “sky-high New Orleans hotel prices” and the less-than-inspiring rematch of Super Bowl LVIII that also featured the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles with the falling “get-in” ticket prices before kickoff Sunday evening.
“Get-in” tickets, generally the cheapest seats for entry into a game, are the lowest for a Super Bowl since 2019, according to Robinson, who cited “nearly every reselling platform” available.
“Secondary seller and market analyst ticketiQ had ‘all in’ priced seats as low as $2,825 for the cheapest tickets in the house,” Robinson wrote. “Meanwhile, some lower bowl seats with a face value of $6,450 had slipped below $6,000.”
While it’s hardly uncommon for secondary-market tickets to drop in the final few hours before kickoff, with brokers and sellers with digital tickets known to slash prices rather than tickets going unsold. But Robinson noted “the overall decline of tickets for this particular Super Bowl has been notable.”
“TicketiQ data showcased a steady decline for the vast majority of the two weeks between the conference title games and Super Bowl, to lows in both ‘get-in’ seats and the average overall price of all tickets available across reselling platforms,” Robinson wrote.

According to StubHub data earlier in the week, ticket purchases by fans from both the Kansas City area and Philadelphia were down by double-digit percentages compared to what they saw two years ago ahead of Super Bowl LVIII.
President Donald Trump predicts Super Bowl LIX winner between Chiefs, Eagles
Donald Trump will become the United States’ first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl on Sunday. Ahead of the highly-anticipated showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, the 47th president revealed which team he believes will win.
“I hate to do it. I just say that I’ve watched this great quarterback (Patrick Mahomes) who has, by the way, a phenomenal wife,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier. “She’s a Trump fan. She’s a MAGA fan, so I happen to love her, OK? But she’s a great person.
“I watched her being interviewed. I said, ‘Boy, that’s pretty good.’ But she’s great, and he’s great. I guess you have to say that when a quarterback wins as much as he’s won, I have to go with Kansas City. I have to go with Kansas City. At the same time, Philadelphia has a fantastic [team]. It’s gonna be just a great game.”
Trump isn’t the only one who’s expecting an entertaining matchup. According to FanDuel, the Chiefs are 1.5-point favorites against the Eagles. In fairness, the Chiefs are used to this, entering the game with back-to-back Super Bowl victories under their belts.
