Terry Bradshaw offers emphatic defense of Jerry Jones trading Micah Parsons: 'I don't blame him one bit'

Terry Bradshaw believes that Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made the right decision to trade Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. On Fox NFL Sunday, the legendary Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback shared his thoughts on one of the most surprising trades in recent NFL history.
“I think Jerry Jones did the right thing,” Bradshaw said. “I don’t blame him one bit. I would have unloaded him. Saves me a ton of money on the salary cap, No. 1. He’s automatically getting two more first-round picks to go with the two he’s already got. And who’s to say that at the end of this year, things don’t work out, somebody is going to get traded and pick up another one.
“Jerry Jones is sitting in the driver’s seat. I think it was a smart decision. And here’s the thing… Jerry Jones had to answer to no one to make this trade. It wasn’t the Jimmy Johnson trade when Jimmy moved [Herschel] Walker to get the six players, and they unloaded the six players, which equals six draft picks. This is going to be the same thing. Good move by Jerry Jones.”

Micah Parsons made a big impact in his Packers debut
Terry Bradshaw is referring to the 1989 trade in which the Cowboys traded running back Herschel Walker to the Minnesota Vikings. The Cowboys acquired four players and three picks in the 1990 draft. Jimmy Johnson, the head coach of the Cowboys at the time, cut all four players to acquire five more draft picks (two in 1991 and three in 1992), and had three extra first-round picks. It ultimately led to the Cowboys winning three Super Bowls during the ’90s.
Only time will tell if the Cowboys will do it again after trading Micah Parsons, but the Packers are in a better position to make a Super Bowl run by adding one of the best pass rushers in the NFL. In the team’s season opener against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, Parsons recorded one sack and three QB pressures to help Green Bay earn the 27-13 victory.
