Report: Texas A&M DL Shemar Turner pulls out of Senior Bowl due to stress fracture

Texas A&M defensive lineman Shemar Turner had to pull out of the Senior Bowl due to a stress fracture that never fully healed, according to Ian Rapoport.
“Texas A&M DL Shemar Turner, a likely Top 50 pick, had to pull out of the Senior Bowl after learning that a stress fracture from camp, that needed a rod inserted into it, never fully healed, sources say,” Rapoport wrote on Twitter. “Turner, who played on it all season, was advised to have no impact on his leg for 3-4 weeks to let the bone finally heal. He plans to do Combine interviews and perform at his Pro Day.”
Over the course of his college career, Turner has 115 total tackles, 24 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, one pass deflection and three forced fumbles.
He was named to the All-SEC Freshman team in 2021 and earned second-team All-SEC honors in 2023.
As a member of the Class of 2021, Turner was a five-star recruit out of DeSoto (Texas) High, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 4 overall prospect in the state, the No. 5 defensive lineman in the class and the No. 13 overall prospect in the class.

Shemar Turner pulls out of Senior Bowl
Turner aided a solid 2024 campaign for the Aggies and now he’ll take his talents to the pros. Depending upon his injury, he should still be in the top 50 picks come April.
The NFL Draft is scheduled for April 24-26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Texas A&M had a solid first year under Mike Elko and will look to build on it in 2025. Elko recently joined Andy & Ari On3 and shared his plan for improvement in Year 2 with the Aggies.
“I think and this is what I told our guys, we had to lay such a strong foundation of what college football culture should look like,” Mike Elko said. “What it should look like from an accountability standpoint, from a doing it the right way standpoint, from a commitment to doing things for the team standpoint.”
