On Saturday, Texas (3-1, 0-0) and Florida (1-3, 0-1) will square off at 3:30 p.m. ET inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Both teams will be well-rested after enjoying byes last week.

According to BetMGM, Texas is a 7-point favorite against the Gators. The over/under for the highly-anticipated showdown is set at 43.5 points.

Florida is Texas’ first SEC opponent of the season. After falling 14-7 to Ohio State in their season-opener, the Longhorns have won three consecutive games against Group-of-Five foes.

Most recently, Texas dominated Sam Houston State in a 55-0 blowout. In the win, Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning had arguably his best game of the season. He completed 18-of-his-21 pass attempts for 309 yards and three touchdowns, without throwing an interception.

Manning will look to build on his momentum against the Gators. However, Florida won’t make it easy on him. The Gators will be hungry for a win after suffering three losses in a row.

In Week 4, Florida fell 26-7 to in-state rival Miami. Gators quarterback DJ Lagway had another subpar outing, only completing 12-of-23 passes for 61 yards and no touchdowns.

After a strong debut campaign last season, Lagway has struggled this season. Florida will need its QB to find his footing on Saturday if it wants to stand a chance against the Longhorns.

Florida and Texas have only met three times in their storied histories. The Longhorns boast a 3-0-1 all-time record over the Gators. When the two teams met last season, Texas routed Florida 49-17. Gators head coach Billy Napier knows a win on Saturday could do wonders for his team.

“This is a tough game, right? And when the going gets tough, the tough get going,” Napier said. “It’s important that we are committed, that we are persistent, and that we’re focused on the work. This is the time in your life and in the game, as a competitor, as a teammate, you show resolve.”

Texas and Florida will clash at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. The game will air live on ESPN.
