Tory Taylor reveals hilarious text from Caleb Williams after NFL Draft selection

The 2024 NFL Draft has come and gone and players now know where they’ll be spending the next few months or next few years suiting up. For former USC quarterback Caleb Williams that was always a foregone conclusion as the No. 1 overall pick.
In fact, few could take it easy like Williams could as he watched the rest of the draft unfold.
And when the Chicago Bears dialed up the pick in the fourth round, Williams was watching. Intently. Maybe. In any case, he was watching enough to chime in.
Who was the pick?
It was Iowa punter Tory Taylor, one of the first specialists off the board in the 2024 NFL Draft. Williams immediately reached out with a hilarious message, according to Taylor.
“Hey, you’re not going to punt too much here,” Caleb Williams said according to Taylor, as relayed by Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic.
The implication, of course, is obvious. Chicago will be finishing drives with touchdowns and field goals, not punts. Williams is certainly capable of making that a reality.

The 2022 Heisman Trophy winner, Williams set the college ranks ablaze with his play over the course of the last three years. He went from Oklahoma to USC, where he emerged as one of the most prolific passers in the game.
During his Heisman Trophy season in 2022, Williams threw for 4,537 yards and 42 touchdowns, against just five interceptions. He also ran for 382 yards and 11 touchdowns.
In his college career in its entirety, Williams threw for 10,082 yards and 93 touchdowns, against just 14 interceptions. He ran for 960 yards with 27 touchdowns.
Replicating that success won’t be easy at the NFL level, especially not right away with a franchise that was picking No. 1 overall for a reason.
Still, you have to love Caleb Williams’ confidence. Unless you’re Tory Taylor, perhaps.
