Chris Whitehead pushed David Jacobs for the top pass rusher at the Polynesian Bowl. The Virginia native has plus length and played with dogged effort throughout the week. Whitehead made it virtually impossible for his team to practice during the 11-on-11 period on Thursday’s practice, generating constant pressure. During Friday’s game, Whitehead came up with a big play, forcing a fumble which set up Mauka’s first touchdown. Later, Whitehead showed impressive speed in pursuit, erasing a run to the outside. The combination of explosion and effort level caught our eye all week.
