Pass catching

Smooth, instinctive running back with a long stride, big-play ability, and excellent change of direction.

Listed at 5-foot-10, 180 pounds. He will need to keep adding quality mass to his frame while maintaining or improving his athleticism as he matures in order to hold up as a primary back at the college level. He is off to a strong start as a junior, rushing for 669 yards and 10 touchdowns through seven games. He is averaging a stout 8.9 yards per carry and over 95 yards per game, with four 100-yard outings in seven contests. He has lined up at receiver and caught some passes, and he also took a kickoff back for a touchdown.

He sees the game naturally and plays fast. His eyes work in concert with his feet. He quickly processes defender leverage and looks to make the proper cut. He runs with vision, pad level, and change of direction that make him a dangerous inside runner at the high school level. He does most of his damage between the tackles on Friday nights, but he has the skill set and ability to become a threat to pick up yards on the outside as well with his longer stride.

He flashes a natural, smooth stride that opens up in the open field, extending his gait to pull away for long scores. He has several weaving touchdown runs on the year. His ability to shift gears is perhaps his best skill at this juncture. He does not have to slow down and gather when he changes direction. He redirects with ease and runs with impressive tempo. He shows quick, easy feet and flashes a quick, fluid juke in space and in tight quarters. He has advanced change of direction for a junior running back, effortlessly cuts to set up his runs, and shows the ability to make defenders miss at each level of the field with a nasty juke. He accelerates well out of those cuts for a back with his stride length and is able to gear down and quickly accelerate when changing direction.

He runs with power that belies his frame. He breaks tackle attempts and does not go down often on first contact. He fights through shoestring tackles. He runs behind his pads in short yardage, lowering his shoulder to drive through contact.

His longer gait helps him separate once he clears the line. He can keep adding to his true top gear over the next two years, though his play speed is above average right now and is pacing well at this stage. He flashes pass-catching ability without being overly productive there yet, showing the ability to catch with proper form. He still can up his production and consistency as a receiving threat. He also has some quality reps in pass protection.

He safely projects as an FBS prospect in the 2028 cycle. He may not come from a part of California heavily trafficked by college coaches, but the skill level and production should merit serious looks from FBS programs.
