Film Review Notes

Able to watch the latest senior film. Creative playmaker at the position who gets the ball out quickly and is a bit of an escape artist when it comes to pocket mobility. Maneuvers the pocket and escapes pressure effectively. Has the mobility and elusiveness to escape pressure, and still keeps his eyes downfield in order to find open pass catchers. Has a tighter, compact release but gets the ball out in a hurry. Likes to tuck the football and pick up tough yards with his legs. Elusive runner who can make defenders miss in tight spaces and isn't afraid of contact in order to finish runs. Comfortable passer on the move, delivers the football with accuracy and hits open receivers consistently. Lacks ideal velocity and arm strength for the position at this stage. The ball tends to float on him when he throws deeper concepts. When throwing off-platform, he tends to lose his lower half and throws the football all-arm and loses velocity. Mechanically, he needs to marry his lower and upper-half when throwing off-platform. The result is good when the receivers are open, but when the window's tighten up and close faster at the next level, the timing and accuracy will need to tighten up as well and I think that stems from his mechanics. He's a solid athlete and could use some improvement in his explosive ability and to keep getting faster, but he's a functional mover in space for sure. Also has a tendency to get stuck on his first read. Admittedly, not sure what the offense is asking of him, but he appears to have moments where he gets locked into his first option and doesn't deviate from that target, and then looks to escape with his legs. Needs to get more comfortable going from 1 to 2, 2 to 3, etc.
