Hurst showed flashes as a part-time starter as a sophomore and then really came on his junior season. He threw for nearly 3,000 yards and 45 touchdowns with just five interceptions, while completing 66% of his throws. His touchdown/interception ratio isn’t as high as a senior, but he’s taking more shots down the field, and his ability to protect the football and make smart decisions with it is not a concern moving forward. Decisive thrower with advanced feel for throwing on time and with anticipation. Shows good touch on the deeper throws and has improved his velocity over the last year. Most comfortable in the pocket and needs to improve his mobility and ability to escape pressure and extend a play. Does look comfortable throwing off-platform and can make accurate throws on designed rollouts. Lean 6-foot-3 frame with room to add good weight. Will take his shots down the field and give his receivers a chance to make a play.
