Jared McCain has won at every level, from high school to travel and international ball, and even in his time at Duke. McCain has won gold medals, Peach Jam titles, and state championships. He grew into Duke’s biggest perimeter threat during the latter half of the season, averaging 14.9 points and shooting 37.7 percent from three in ACC play. McCain is an average athlete with average length and that leads to some defensive questions and versatility scoring the basketball. Jared McCain can get going in a hurry and out up numbers. He won the McDAA 3-point contest, and that is pretty indicative of how he shot the ball all week. McCain has a scorers mentality with the ball in his hands. He is a competitive defender and plays downhill when he can. While the court vision could come into question, and his finishing at the rim, McCain competes, positive things seem to happen when he is on the floor.

McCain is a confident and skilled scorer. His best scoring attribute is getting into the mid-range and knocking down an assortment of pull-ups and floaters. He is a good enough shooter from three and he can finish at the basket. McCain is a volume scorer and a shoot-first ball handler. He is a competitive defender and uses and strong and compact frame to be a disruption. McCain has won a lot, at every level.
