Justin Scott Scouting Reports

3 Reports
  1. Justin Scott checks in at No. 7 in updated On300

    Charles Power2/27/23

Justin Scott (No. 7) could be the top defensive lineman or offensive lineman in the cycle. The 6-foot-5, 310-pounder is dominant on both sides of the ball at Chicago St. Ignatius. Scott is a highly coordinated, light-footed and powerful athlete. He makes eye-catching plays on defense with his ability to run sideline to sideline. On offense, he flashes outstanding reactive quickness to go with a strong punch.

  2. Justin Scott rated as a 5-star in initial 2024 On300

    Charles Power3/24/22

Defensive lineman Justin Scott checks in at No. 3 overall in the initial 2024 On300. The 6-foot-5, 310 pounder burst on the scene this fall while playing his first season of varsity football at St. Ignatius in Chicago. Though new to football, Scott’s easily identifiable natural talent currently separates him among the defensive line group. His explosive and fluid movement skills are readily apparent. Scott runs like a much smaller player and makes high-level athletic plays in pursuit. There’s no question he’ll need to continue developing like most other top prospects, but we view Scott’s ceiling high enough to merit the early five-star rating.

  3. Justin Scott Scouting Summary

    Primary
    Charles Power3/21/22

Naturally-gifted defensive tackle with rare movement skills. One of the more unique jumbo athletes early on in the 2024 cycle. Considered the top prospect from Chicago in several cycles. Measured in at 6-foot-4 and close to 315 pounds prior to his senior season. Has solid length with 33-inch arms. A light-footed, nimble athlete who moves like a much smaller player. Lines up both on the interior and the edge for his high school. Creates regular disruption with his quickness and ability to convert speed to power. Chases down plays from the back side and runs sideline-to-sideline with ease. A loose, fluid mover with natural flexibility. Shows his natural explosion as a finisher. Also doubles as a dominant offensive lineman. Could be one of the top offensive line prospects in the cycle, as well. Relatively new to football, playing his first season at the varsity level as a sophomore. Has a background as a soccer and basketball player. Will need to continue developing from a technical aspect, particularly with his hands. Rapid ascension and quick improvement point to a high ceiling.
