2026 IOL Camron Thompson commits to Mississippi State: ‘The environment is so magical in Starkville’

Savannah (Ga.) Jenkins three-star interior offensive lineman Camron Thompson received offers from 25 schools. One of those programs is Mississippi State and the Bulldogs offered him earlier this summer after his performance at a camp.
Since then, head coach Jeff Lebby and his staff have been recruiting Thompson “hard.” Mississippi State’s efforts paid off, as the 6-foot-3, 300-pound recruit has committed to the SEC program over Virginia Tech.
“Three things I love about Mississippi State are the coaching staff, the school’s campus being beautiful and most importantly, coach Phil Loadholt,” Thompson told Rivals.
Thompson shared that his strongest bond on the Bulldogs’ staff is with Loadholt, Mississippi State’s offensive line coach. The Bulldogs assistant played a key role in his decision, as the No. 159 player in Georgia “knew” he was choosing Mississippi State after participating in the camp and talking to Loadholt.

“I have the best connection with coach Loadholt,” said Thompson. “I like him a lot. He’s going to push me to be great and he wants the best for me.”
Lebby has also made a positive impression on Thompson.
“Coach Lebby is a great coach,” Thompson said. “He’s really cool in person. I like the way he coaches.”
Following his commitment to the Bulldogs, Thompson is “shutting it down.” He is planning to return to Starkville for his official visit during the season.
“The environment is so magical in Starkville,” Thompson said.
