Pike Road (Ala.) three-star linebacker Braylon Outlaw announced on Wednesday that he has decommitted from Tennessee.

He was pledged to the Volunteers for nearly a year, but is now back on the board with five weeks to go until the December signing period.

“After careful consideration and talking this through with my family, I have decided to decommit from the University of Tennessee,” Outlaw wrote in a post announcing his decision on X. “I want to thank coach Inge, coach Heupel and the entire UT staff for giving me the opportunity to be a part of their program.”

Outlaw is the No. 695 overall prospect and No. 58 LB in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 23 recruit in Alabama.

The 6-foot, 200-pounder is coming off another visit to Georgia Tech over the weekend. The Yellow Jackets are now trending for the Yellowhammer State prospect, according to the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine.

Georgia Tech pursuing Outlaw

Brent Key’s team in Atlanta remains undefeated and is in the thick of things for a College Football Playoff berth. Over the weekend, Outlaw was on The Flats and saw Georgia Tech dust Syracuse.

“My visit was great,” Outlaw told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong. “I really enjoyed being up there. What excites me most is the culture of the program and the direction it is headed in.”

Outlaw was previously expected to get back to Knoxville this weekend as the Vols host Oklahoma. His decision leaves Tennessee with 23 total commits.

Georgia Tech currently has a pair of linebacker commits in its 2026 class in Carrollton (Ga.) three-star CJ Gamble and Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage three-star Kymani Morales. The Yellow Jackets have the nation’s No. 47 class, per the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Just one Alabama prospect is in the class in Birmingham Parker three-star wide receiver Kentrell Davis. Georgia and Florida account for the other 17 pledges. A pair of blue-chip corners out of the Peach State sit atop the class in Quitman Brooks County four-star Traeviss Stevenson and Manchester four-star Jaedyn Terry, the No. 23 and No. 41 CBs in the nation, respectively.

“The program is going up. We can’t get complacent. We just have to keep working and keep beating the teams in front of us. Coach Key has the players believing,” Stevenson told Rivals’ Chad Simmons this fall. “He has put in their minds that they can beat anyone. If they work, work together, and play hard, then they can win. Coach Key is building something.”
