Columbus (Ga.) Carver three-star wide receiver Kei’Maurii Miles has decommitted from North Carolina, he tells Rivals’ Haydn Hollin.

He was pledged to the Tar Heels since April 7, when he chose the ACC program after a spring visit to Chapel Hill.

Miles is the No. 1,191 overall prospect and No. 181 wide receiver in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 119 recruit in the Peach State.

Bill Belichick and the UNC staff made an early impression on Miles this spring and landed a commitment from the pass-catcher. The chance to play under Belichick and the love he felt from the staff played major roles in his decision.

With National Signing Day now less than a month away, though, Miles has re-opened his process and is looking elsewhere. He was one of a whopping 39 commits in North Carolina’s 2026 class. Miles also holds offers from the likes of Georgia, USC, Texas A&M, Georgia Tech and Memphis.

Miles is currently amidst an undefeated season as a senior for Carver, which is now 10-0 and gearing up for a postseason run. He’s collected four receiving touchdowns this fall. The Carver Tigers are currently the No. 46 team in Georgia, per the Massey Ratings.

UNC still has massive 2026 class

Despite losing a pledge from Miles, North Carolina still has the biggest recruiting class in the cycle by a wide margin. There’s still four listed wide receiver commits in the mix, headlined by Jackson (Ala.) four-star Keeyun Chapman and Bluffton (S.C.) four-star Carnell Warren.

Chapman and Warren are the No. 19 and No. 49 receivers in the cycle, respectively. The top-ranked commit in the class remains Detroit Cass Tech four-star athlete CJ Sadler, who could line up on either side of the ball for the Tar Heels. He’s the No. 131 recruit overall.

The secondary room will be quite loaded in Chapel Hill once this class makes its way to campus, too. Nine listed defensive backs are currently committed, with Miami Norland four-star cornerback Kenton Dopson and Avon (Ohio) four-star safety Jakob Weatherspoon leading the way. Dopson flipped from Miami, while Weatherspoon flipped from Ohio State.

Belichick and Co. have flipped myriad prospects this cycle, including: Dopson, Weatherspoon, four-star defensive lineman Trashawn Ruffin, four-star offensive tackle J.B. Shabazz, three-star tight end Carson Sneed and more.

The class currently ranks No. 16 in the nation, according to the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
